Finding help often begins with simply knowing where to look.

Every day, there are people in our community who may have questions about where to find assistance, whom to contact, or what resources are available to them. However, knowing that there is help is not the same as knowing where to find it. Information can be difficult to remember and easy to overlook.

We want to help make those connections easier.

At SAVAC, we are dedicated to educating our community about the sexual assault resources and support available to them. We are excited to present our new “We Believe You” business cards – a simple way to help spread awareness and make important information easier to access and share.

More Than Just a Card

While a business card may seem like a small thing, it can provide someone with information about resources that could have a great impact on their life.

Our “We Believe You” cards provide more than just a phone number or website. They offer a convenient way to keep important information close and share it when someone may need it. Instead of trying to remember a website, search for resources, or look up an emergency hotline number, community members can keep a card on hand and have important resources within reach.

These cards are meant to be shared.

Whether you are talking to a friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, or just someone you meet in the community, having a “We Believe You” card available could help connect someone with information they may not have known was available to them. One card can reach far beyond the person who originally received it.

Sometimes, simply knowing where to turn can be an important first step.

Why Resource Awareness Matters

One of the biggest challenges organizations face is ensuring people know about the help available to them, and making sure they understand how to access it.

Knowing where to turn in a crisis can help connect someone with immediate safety, medical care, and mental health support.

Many people have no idea where to begin looking. By putting important information into a simple, shareable format, we can help close that information gap and make it easier for people to learn about SAVAC and the support we provide. A resource that may not seem necessary today could become important tomorrow – for you, someone you care about, or someone you meet in your community.

Having access to this information means you do not have to start from scratch when trying to find help.

What We Offer at SAVAC

SAVAC provides free and confidential services and resources designed to support members of our community.

Our “We Believe You” cards highlight the help that is available to you 24/7. Each card features our emergency hotline number and a QR code that takes you directly to the SAVAC website, where individuals can learn more about the services and resources we offer.

Our services include:

• 24-Hour Hospital Accompaniment

• On-Site Forensic Medical Exams

• One-on-One Crisis Intervention

• Personal Advocacy

• Court Accompaniment

• Information and Referrals

• Counseling & Support Groups

Whether someone needs support at the hospital or in court, access to medical care following an assault, or information about available resources, SAVAC is here to help.

Our goal is to ensure that the people of our community know they do not have to navigate difficult situations alone.

Helping Our Community

Our work is about more than providing resources. It's also about building connections in our community.

Community organizations, local businesses, volunteers, families, and individuals all have a role to play in ensuring people learn where to find support. When information is easier to find and share, more people have the opportunity to learn about the resources around them.

We encourage local organizations and businesses to keep SAVAC’s “We Believe You” cards readily available in places where visitors can easily access them. A small stack of cards at a front desk, office, event table, or any public space can help introduce SAVAC to those who may not have heard about us before.

The more people know about the resources we offer, the easier it becomes for information to spread throughout the community.

You Never Know Who May Need It

One of the most important reasons to share information about available resources is that we often do not know what someone else may be experiencing.

Someone who appears to have everything under control may still have questions or need support. A friend or family member may be searching for information on behalf of someone else. A coworker may want to help but may not know where to begin.

We do not always see the challenges others are facing.

This is why having information readily available is so important. You do not have to know someone’s entire situation to give them a resource. Sometimes, simply being able to say, “Here is a place you can learn more,” can help someone take the next step when they are ready.

The SAVAC “We Believe You” card can make that connection a little easier.

It is also a reminder of something every survivor deserves to hear: We believe you.

Small Card. Big Impact.

Making an impact in our community doesn’t have to involve something big or complicated.

Picking up a card takes only a moment. Keeping one with you takes very little effort. Sharing one with someone who could benefit from knowing about SAVAC takes only a few seconds.

Someone might see the card and decide to learn more about SAVAC, visit our website, contact us, or share the card with someone else. That next person may discover a resource they didn't know was available.

That is how awareness spreads. One card can create a connection that reaches far beyond what we may ever realize.

How You Can Help Spread the Word

We invite everyone in our community to help us share information about SAVAC and the resources available through our organization.

Here are a few simple ways you can help:

Keep a card with you.

Put a “We Believe You” card somewhere you can easily access it when you are out in the community. You never know when having that information available could help someone.

Share information with others.

If someone mentions that they are looking for resources or information, share our card with them. Let them know about SAVAC.

Help your organization spread the word.

If you work with a local business, nonprofit, community organization, or other group, consider keeping “We Believe You” cards available for visitors and community members. Helping people learn about available resources is one way we can all strengthen our community.

Learn more yourself.

Even if you do not currently need a SAVAC resource, take a few minutes to learn about what we offer. Understanding the resources available in your community may help you connect someone else with support in the future.
